SULTAN MURAT PLATEAU

Sultan IV. On his return from the Iranian expedition in 1635, Murat stayed on this plateau and prayed for Friday prayers. Upon his stay the plateau named after Sultan Murat Plateau.

It is 17.2 km from the town center and 27 km from the Çaykara Park Hotel.

In the southwest and 2002 m. In this highland, which is located at an altitude, there is also a martyrdom of our army that fought against the Russian armies in the First World War. There were 71 officers, 70 officers and 70 soldiers, who were killed by fighting against the Russians and this hill was called “Martyrs Hill”.

There is drinking water, electricity and toilets in Sultan murat plateau, which is 24 km away from Çaykara district of Trabzon province and located 55 km northwest of Aydıntepe. Martyrs’ tombs and trenches from the war are held annually on June 26 and thousands of people visit the event.
